Sure Fire ways to expand your Network with Email Marketing.

Posted by MLMAbsolute On December - 30 - 2008

In networking business, you need to network with people. The best way to maintain contact with people online is through Email Marketing. You can use it for many purposes; appreciation for joining/ purchasing, product updates, promotional updates.

The potential of MLM / Network Marketing online is tremendous, but the difference in geographical regions makes it difficult to connect with your downlines real time. But this difference can be easily solved by Email Marketing.

The only important thing you need to remember when doing MLM / Network Marketing is PEOPLE. You need to connect with people. Online, we call them leads. You need leads to have any sale. Not only you need leads, you need targeted leads, that is people who are interested in your product or services.

These are your potential cash cows. You need to follow up with them, update them regularly, forming a relationship. The purpose of doing this is to increase their awareness of your company or product. Imagine, today if you keep seeing the advertisement of, say, MacDonald’s, the next time you make a decision on where to eat, you will probably be thinking of MacDonald’s. You need to get them to see your advertisements. The easiest way is to send them emails.

Email Marketing is not just sending information and updates. There are many things you need to take note when doing Email Marketing. Here are some tips on how you can maximize the results from your Email Marketing Campaign.

Email Like a Pro

When composing email-messages, you need to keep in mind some points to make your emails look more professional.

- Who is it from?

People will see who sent them the email before opening them. This makes your email address very important. To look more professional, please refrain from using free email accounts like @gmail, @yahoo or @hotmail. Use something that your customer recognizes, such as your name or company name. e.g. support @yourcompanyname.com. Most hosting package gives you a number of emails account you can create under your own domain name.

Another factor that determines if a person opens up your email is the subject line. Your subject line must attract them or create interest to know more. Generally as a rule, keep it under 50 characters.

- Main body

After your reader decides to open your email, you have to grab this opportunity to sell your purpose to them. Identify your self and the purpose of your purpose to them immediately. Keep the style of the email close to the style of your website. State the referrer if you have.

Improve conversion of your Emails

An effective email is more likely to increase traffic to your website. It also increases the returns on effort (that is for scripting the email). Here is 6 golden rules to make your email more effective;

- Brand

You need to brand yourself or the company in order to make people remember you. Good examples of branding are; The Rich Jerk, Success University, and many more. Stick with the brand image you created, and use it consistently in every email you send out. Put your Brand in the subject line, so people can recognize you instantly.

- Honesty

Be honest in your subject line. Don’t trick them to opening the email with misleading or false information. Be cautioned that it is a requirement to state accurate subject line.

- Instill sense of urgency

Creating a sense of urgency will make the reader make a decision. You can instill the sense of urgency in readers by using words like “for the first 50 customers, Limited time, early bird discount” in the email to make readers feel the need to take action soon.

- Entice them

Give readers benefits to open the email in the subject line. E.g. Redeem you Free Gift now! You can also incorporate the urgency to open the email in your subject line.

- Keep to the limit

In your main body, you can use bolds, colors, and capital letters to emphasize the benefits of your product / service. But bear in mind not to over do it. Using too much bolds, capital letters and colors will not only confuse your readers, it will also piss people and spiders off. Spiders may filter your email and classify it as SPAM.

- Simple and Sweet

Different purpose of email requires you to use different strategy in your emails. But as a general rule, keep your email simple and sweet. Nobody likes to read a long and wordy email. You should keep your email to the main point. If you have too much information to give, it will probably better if you give a short introduction in the email and add a link for people to click to read the full article.

*P.S Include a unsubscribe tab for all your email correspondence. It is a legal requirement for all email newsletter to include the unsubscribe option to reduce SPAM.

Google Hot Trends

Posted by admin On December - 25 - 2008

I’m sure you know that Google Hot Trends shows the searches that is popular in the US. I thought it would be cool to to see what are the “hottest” queries on the Christmas Day, when many people open their presents and then use Google to find information about them.

Google Hot Trends

Check the “hot trends” list and see if there’s any change from last year.

It seems like as usual iTunes seems to dominate the list of popular queries: [www.itunes.com downloads], [itunes download], [itunes store], so Apple’s iPhone and iPod continue to sell well during xmas.

According to Google Zeitgeist, the fastest rising query for 2008 was [Sarah Palin], followed by [beijing 2008], [facebook login], [tuenti]*, [Heath Ledger] and [Obama].

Google continues to be popular: orkut is the most popular query in Brazil and India, and youtube on the other hand is the most popular query in France, Spain, Italy and Mexico, the fastest rising query in Australia was Google Maps.

Google Search History

Posted by admin On December - 22 - 2008

Google has recently added a cool new feature where it shows your Search history in their traditional Search Suggestion. That means when you type in a query, it tries to find related pages that you have already visited in the past and displays them as suggestion.

When you create a Google account, Google enables their Web History option that saves all your queries and the results you clicked on. Google Web History service can be extended to all the web pages you visit if you install Google Toolbar.

As you can probably Imagine Web History has many different uses, but Google hasn’t really made it very useful other than offering some very basic recommendations and trends. Google decided to personalize the suggestions offered when you type a query on Google’s homepage by adding searches from your history. Just Like how it is done in Firefox’s search box, the historical search queries are displayed at the top, but the major difference is that Firefox saves the searches on your computer, while Google saves them in the cloud (under your account).

Trouble with Google Search Partners Metrics

Posted by admin On December - 22 - 2008

Back in October, Google Adwords separated the metrics for traffic from Google and their Search Partners. We all had our assumptions about how our campaigns were performing in the Search Network, but this updated allowed us to see the actual numbers.

Google Search Partners Statistics

For the most part, this new information is more informative than actionable. Without knowing which exact partners the traffic is coming from and without having the ability to opt out of individual partner sites it is hard to make any significant changes to your campaigns. But there are still some little adjustments that can be made to improve your campaigns.

One of the main things you can do with these metrics is work to improve your Quality Score. Your quality score is only affected from ads running on Google. So if you look at a campaign and take out all the Search Partner traffic, you can see the exact metrics that are driving your Quality Score and make adjustments to keywords and ads where needed.

I was making these exact adjustments to one of my campaigns a few weeks ago and ran into some trouble. The trouble didn’t come on the day I made the changes to try to improve my Quality Score, it came a few days later. I came back to the account after a few days, with the intent of making some major bid increases in anticipation for increased traffic for the holidays. I jumped in and started looking at data for the last 30 days to see which terms were performing well. Here is where my trouble came. My settings in the account were still set to look at Google traffic only. So as I started to make bid changes, I was making my changes based on incomplete data.

Fortunately, I noticed that the numbers weren’t adding up and changed the settings before any of the new bids went live, but it still scared me a bit.

I now have a new step in my process whenever I make major changes to my Adwords account: change the “statistics” setting to “summary.” Hopefully, this will help me avoid ever making this mistake again.

Clipart Image Search

Posted by admin On December - 21 - 2008

Google Image Search recently added two brand new new image filtering options: clip art and line drawings. Besides these two new options, Image searchers can also restrict the results by faces, photos and illustrations for recent news articles.

Google’s blog writes “Many of us use Google Image Search to find imagery of people, clip art for presentations, diagrams for reports, and of course symbols and patterns for artistic inspiration. Unfortunately, searching for the perfect image can be challenging if the search results match the meaning of your query but aren’t in a style that’s useful to you,”.

Clipart Image Search

You can find the Image Filter in the drop-down that has the default option “any content”. It seems like Image search engines has started to become more intelligent as they can now analyze the images by detecting objects and recognizing patterns.

YouTubes High Quality Video

Posted by admin On December - 20 - 2008

YouTube recently came out with a page listing videos specifically available in high definition. Also, these HD videos now can be opened in a larger player than the smaller one that you have probably seenbefore. A lots of new features features like comments, the ad box, or related videos are a bit down in the page. If you wish to watch any videos in high quality you will still need to click “watch in HD” when on the video page.

Youtube High Quality

Google-owned YouTube continues to experiment with additions and changes. Some of these are neat while others are partly distracting, like when YouTube shows a search box when you start an embedded video and hover over the video box. Other overlays include AdSense ads – which is pretty cool.

Google Accounts Page

Posted by admin On December - 18 - 2008

Google has recently gone through the trouble of redesigning their Account page in order to integrate the information from your public profile and to show a detailed list of the services that you use in a nice compact 3-columns layout.

Google Profile Redesigned

The Google’s account page is a easy way to access Google’s services you’ve used at least once. If you wish to to remove some services from your account (for example: Orkut, Gmail, Web History), or even change your password, security question, personal information and the list of sites that access data from your account using Google’s APIs - this is one page that you would find useful.

I think it would be best if Google could profile the most frequently used services in this page along with the last activity data (like what we have in Gmail now). Also It would be nice if we could save all our Google account data so that we could move them to another Google Account (If ever necessary). I’m not sure why Google still doesn’t save the global preferences in your account rather than saving it in cookies.
